Scoliosis

When identified early, scoliosis can often be effectively managed to help prevent progression. Scoliosis is characterized by an abnormal sideways curvature of the spine and, in some cases, spinal rotation. It most commonly develops during adolescence, often without a known cause and in children with no prior history of spinal conditions.

While many cases are mild and require only monitoring or conservative treatment, more significant curvatures may require medical intervention. Although scoliosis affects both males and females, females are more likely to develop curves that progress and require treatment.

Treating Scoliosis

Chiropractic care can play an important role in the management of scoliosis at any age by supporting spinal function, mobility, and overall posture. Through gentle spinal adjustments, chiropractic treatment helps improve joint movement, reduce discomfort, and address areas of imbalance associated with spinal curvature. Applied Kinesiology further enhances care by identifying muscle imbalances and areas of stress that may contribute to poor spinal stability. Together, these approaches provide a personalized treatment plan designed to support proper function, improve comfort, and promote long-term spinal health.
